Quite some time has passed now since last I was able to upload some new images. Now that the account is working properly again there are a few illustrations that might be worth your while. For one the Tolkien inspired scene "Abusing Hospitality". I have laboured over it for years until last summer I finally took the time to put it toghether. Some previews have been show on facebook before. But there are also a number of watercolours from sketching excursions and renderings of street scenes from Florence to be found in the "architecture" section.
I would like - if I may - to bring to your attention that there is a new children´s book out, written by my very own mother, Gisela Janssen. After years of nagging she has finally put pen to paper and written down the lovely fairytales that she made up whenever she had to take my brother´s and my minds away from boredom or exhaustion. Alas so far it is only published in German (intended for kids between 5 and 10). Needless to say that as I had a big hand in pushing her to writing it is also packed with black&white illustrations by me. More information (so far German, only) to be found under the link in the blue box, saying "Zwirbelzwerge".
My
apologies to visitors craving for illustrations inspired by the works
of J.R.R. Tolkien. Instead of a quite chaotic collection of all illustrations
concerned on one page I decided to sort them into the sections WATERCOLOUR,
PENCIL & INK and ARCHITECTURE, hoping you will have little trouble
spotting them anyway.
